It’s Tarot Cafe day!
Whoop! Whoop!
It has happened to us all as Tarot readers, collectors or enthusiasts: we are conducting or getting a reading and, while shuffling our little hearts out, a card (or three) leaps out of the deck and onto the table (or floor if you are lucky like me).
So what do you do when this happens? This is our topic for the Tarot Cafe video today.
There is a Video Transcription Below for those of you who would rather read or can’t watch the video right now.

In today’s episode, I discuss what does it mean when a card falls out or jumps out of a deck when you are shuffling the cards?
When we talk about cards falling out or jumping out of the deck it means when someone is shuffling the cards, a card may fall out of the shuffler’s hands onto the table or sometimes the ground. Sometimes the cards can appear to leap out of the deck because some people shuffle very quickly.
So does it mean anything when this happens?
It really depends on if you give it meaning.
Just like a lot in sacred practice, this is something that only has meaning if you believe it does.
I know fellow readers who always pull these cards aside as read with the intention that they have extra weight in a reading.
I know other readers who, like me, don’t. In my personal reading practice, if one card does a flip where it gets caught and turns around or falls into my reading table I will take note to see if it comes up again in the reading. This is more out of curiosity than anything else.
The reason I do this is because there are usually a lot of cards to manage when you are shuffling a tarot deck.
I, for one, am a pretty clumsy person and my shuffling game is either madly on point or a hot friggin’ mess. If I looked at all the cards as a sign from my guides that there is special meaning that 6 cards fell on the floor I could be there all freaking day!
I also truly believe from years of reading that what’s for you won’t miss you so you will totally get the message you were meant to in your reading.
Whether you choose to view cards falling out as a sign or if you just take a quick glance and pop them back into the deck is completely up to you. Hey, you may have an agreement with your guides to do that while you are conducting a reading.
That is the cool thing with being your own Tarot or Oracle reader. Like everything, you just gotta do you.
What do you think? Do you give this meaning in your readings?
